Lorek - Sculpting the light

Of French nationality, Lorek shares his life between his native country and Poland (Warsaw). After his technical education, he has spent many years travelling the world thanks to his former jobs as a military pilot in the French Navy (plane and helicopter) and as aeronautical engineer for some of the major airlines and manufacturers in this industry.

Beside, he always wanted to learn music or sculpture but, sadly, never had time (and, maybe, such talents!) to develop his artistic skill in these areas. Fortunately, there are always many ways to reach one's goals. A camera is a technical tool for sculpting the light and the harmony of a nice picture is as relaxing and pleasant to the eyes as a good piece of music is to the ears! Photography allows him to express his creativity using his technical education. He really enjoys the technical, artistic and human aspects of this art.

As surprising it can be, he bought his first "serious" camera only a few of years ago (back in 2004) and it was a revelation! In 2005 he won a prize in the FotoErotica competition organized by Playboy magazine and had some of his pictures published in the Polish edition of this famous magazine! The same year, he has been few times presented as the photographer of the week in different photo forums worldwide. Early 2006, his first exposition took place in Warsaw. In the same city, an Art gallery decided to present and sell his work.

Let’s bet this new photographer, fully autodidact, will soon to be published again!

One of his models told him: “You pictures are windows to your soul. When looking at your work I can see your vision of beauty” I guess this is one of the best compliment a photographer can get!
